Who should join Amber?
Anyone within one of our communities that has a facility (barn, building) which is appropriate to hold a solar array. Anyone interested in being an investor in renewable energy generation. Friends and neighbours of persons wanting to host a facility to hold a solar array, and people that want to be project owners within one of our developing communities. Finally, persons that one day might want to do a solar project when it's the right time for them, but want to ensure the opportunity will still be there in the future.
The Benefits of AMBER Membership
As a member of AMBER you will receive annual benefits by bringing a building or proper prepared application for a project to the Cooperative. Or for those joining just to help bring the coop into existence within our developing communities, during our first window of monetary investment you will enjoy the opportunity to invest at whatever levels are available in that window prior to anyone else in the public as membership is opened during these windows. What's the next step?
If you would like more information or would like to join our co-op, membership applications are available, or one of the directors of AMBER will follow up with you to provide additional information. The One Time Membership fee to AMBER and its divisions is $200.00 plus a $50.00 administration fee .
To become a member of AMBER Energies Co-Operative, the membership fee is $200.00. There are no further obligations. A member is encouraged to attend the quarterly meetings and other meetings that may be called. This will keep you abreast of the ongoing activities that are being pursued. AMBER will also provide field trips to generation sites.
Opportunities to network with other Co-operatives and industry organizations is available and the amount of time you devote to this, is up to your personal interest. If you wish to invest in AMBER dividends, you will be provided with a complete offering statement. A minimum investment of $5000.00 is required and the maximum is $300,000.00. Co-operative members will receive first rights on investment opportunities. In purchasing dividends, one has the chance to invest in projects that have been accepted by OPA (Ontario Power Authority).
AMBER has 18 projects that will be going up on area rooftops in the next few months. This venture not only helps to supply a source of clean energy, but also provides employment opportunities locally. Members are not required to invest in the opportunities.
Options available to the property owner:
1. To be given a lease based on the amount of AC solar that can be placed on your facility. AMBER will provide an annual lease payment.
2. There are other opportunities to invest in site projects. Please contact the Executive Director at 519-852-6067 to discuss these.
3. In each round there is an Offering Statement in which all members have a chance to invest.
Requirements from Property Owner(s):
1. The Property Owner(s) must purchase memberships in the AMBER Cooperative. The one time lifelong membership fee is $200.00 plus a $50.00 administration fee.
2 . As property owners within the community of Aylmer, Malahide, Bayham, or other townships or cities in Elgin then on behalf of the Co-operative, you will be required to sign affidavits stating that you own the property in each round.
